2017 is off to a roaring start at Productspec + Smartspec. The year ahead is brimming with exciting events and developments in the company. We wanted to get the ball rolling by bringing our clients together to introduce some new faces and to share our itinerary for the year.Auckland’s magnificent ASB North Wharf building was host to our Back to Work event and we were joined by over 100 guests including our guest speaker National BIM Manager Melanie Tristram from Jasmax.

In her guest presentation, Melanie gave us a great overview of BIM both conceptually, and practically. She described how BIM is incorporated across a wide range of projects at Jasmax, and to provide some context, illustrated the case study of the ASB North Wharf facade which was created at Jasmax utilising BIM. To finish, Melanie described why it’s important for manufacturers to produce robust, comprehensive BIM content and what’s required in order to do so.

Melanie’s presentation can be viewed here.

We would like to thank everyone that made it along to our Back to Work event. It was a pleasure to see you all. Thanks also to ASB North Wharf for their hospitality, and to Melanie Tristram (Twitter: @NZBIMCHICKS) for her very informative contribution to the night.
