Next year marks the sixth annual Paradigm Shift, where New Zealand’s architectural leaders can explore new technology, future systems, and innovative thinking.
Registrations for this free CPD event are open now at www.paradigm-shift.co.nz.
Paradigm Shift has become a platform for future-thinking, and fresh insight from leaders in their respective fields; including Danil Nagy (Autodesk Research), John Klein (MIT Architecture), Usman Haque (Umbrellium), Daniel Davis (WeWork), and Chris Samuelian (Jasmax).
Next year, Paradigm Shift presents Lauren Vasey from the University of Stuttgart’s renowned Institute for Computational Design.
Lauren’s research and projects focus on behavioral and adaptive robotic fabrication; in particular, considering how sensor feedback, iterative computation, and robotic behaviors enable new types of production, and challenge conventional paradigms.
She has taught workshops in computation and robotic fabrication, and has done research in computational techniques for customisable fabrication processes at University of Michigan Taubman College FABLab as well as the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH-Zurich), Chair for Architecture and Digital Fabrication.
In previous years, Paradigm Shift has visited five cities from Auckland to Queenstown. But thanks to popular feedback, five additional cities have been added to the programme for 2018.
- Wellington – 28 May
- Nelson – 29 May
- Christchurch – 30 May
- Dunedin – 31 May
- Queenstown – 1 June
- Napier – 29 Oct
- Tauranga – 30 Oct
- Hamilton – 31 Oct
- Auckland – 1 Nov
- Whangarei – 2 Nov
Lauren Vasey will be on the Paradigm Shift tour from May-June. The keynote speaker for October-November will be announced shortly.
